Barack Obama calls for the release of an Israeli soldier, after Israel declared the recently brokered ceasefire over on Friday, saying Hamas breached the truce by abducting a soldier. The 72-hour humanitarian truce was the most ambitious attempt so far to end more than three weeks of fighting, and followed mounting international alarm over a rising Palestinian civilian death toll
